Sustainable Columbus

Recognizing the role a healthy environment plays in contributing to Columbus continuing to be America’s Opportunity City, the City of Columbus established the Sustainable Columbus initiative. This initiative, under the leadership of Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, focuses on optimizing internal city operations and working with external stakeholders from throughout the community to enhance and promote environmentally friendly policies throughout our community. This website will serve as a one-stop-shop to connect to city programs that benefit our environment.

Columbus Climate Action Plan

Our community is upping its ambition, and is committed to bold goals of 45% emissions reduction by 2030 to ensure Columbus is doing its fair share to combat global climate change. The 2050 goal is carbon neutral. This is part of the city's community roadmap to equity, health, and prosperity for all Columbus families. The plan leads with ambition, guided by science and centered in equity.
